Narrative courtesy of Derek Whitfield:  The photo is taken at Leftwich "attached" to Northwich about one mile North of the Hall site at Leftwich Green.  It shows a view looking North on London Road towards the Railway Viaduct ( The Arches ).  Northwich Town centre is about 300 yards further on.  The spire just visible beyond the top of the Arches is that of Bourne Methodist Church.  The iron railings to the left foreground front a building that I "think" was the "Workhouse" also known as the Red House and now the Salt Museum.
